2017 in review.jpg

Dear Calvary Chapel Miami Beach Family-Member,

2017 was a really full and fruitful year, and as a church I believe we ended the year strong, excited, and a bit humbled by the generosity of God!

Together we reached a TON of people in the teaching of God’s Word!   Every Sunday in our sanctuary we hold five (5) services, as well as teach our kids and youth during the early Sunday services.  We continue to explore the Living Word during the week at our Tuesday Night Men's Group, Oasis Women's Group, Beach Teens' & Beach Kids' Bible Studies, our Thursday Night Spanish Bible Study, and our various discipleship classes.  We enthusiastically report that we currently have twenty-five (25) active ministries of CCMB, and through them we are making ETERNAL IMPACTS on the lives we encounter!

We have been able to surpass our physical reach, far beyond the inside our church walls and surrounding community, through the wonders of social media including Facebook Live, Vimeo, Instagram, Twitter, and our two (2) radio ministries.  The floodgates to sharing the gospel both nationally and globally have been flung open!  Our radio station, 95.3 THE CROSS is a Low-Power FM station that extends through various areas of Miami Beach and Miami proper, broadcasting teachings from various ministries and delivers an eclectic array of music programing. Main Thing Radio is a produced program of sermon teachings from Pastor Robert, Love Lessons with his wife Elisabet, and occasional teachings of CCMB pastoral team.  Main Thing Radio is featured on more than fifty (50) stations around the USA, Great Britain, online, and has podcasts through Apple & Stitch!

In 2017, we saw more than one-hundred fifty (150) people make commitments to follow Jesus Christ in our church services, and at least fifty (50) more through our outreach efforts at Miami Beach Senior High School and Church in the Street community outreaches.  The new opportunity to partner with the Beach High staff has already borne much fruit and as we move into this new season, the opportunity is blossoming into more areas!  Currently Pastor David and Pastor Matt are able to actively minister to two-hundred (200) Beach High students weekly between Bible Club, After-School Prayer, and the Athletic Teams -- and this number is growing!

In continuing to be faithful and generous to the widows, orphans, and poor, we consistently find ourselves responding to the calls that God has placed before us.  We provide regular financial support to fifteen (15) urban & global missionaries, as well as, assist various benevolence requests.  Through our Food Sharing Ministry we have distributed more than ten-thousand (10,000) boxes of donated food to our church family and community.  Additionally, we collected and sent multiple relief-supply shipments to Key West and Puerto Rico Hurricane victims and Venezuela economically devastated orphanages, churches, and families.  We also played a vital role in the implementation of a fresh water drinking well in a village in Swaziland.   We conducted three Kids’ Camps for Children's Home Society at our church receiving approximately sixty (60) local foster children, during which each child received tangible gifts, which communicated the gospel message.

We also had our very first Church Family Retreat at Lake Placid with one hundred sixteen (116) attendees.  We had our largest Vacation Bible School to date with nearly seventy (70) kids, including from Children's Home Society and a majority of un-churched kids!  I could go on and on with statistics from the Prison Ministry teams and Nursing Home teams, and we shouldn’t forget Hurricane Irma prep and recovery, but you get the picture; God has blessed us immensely and allowed us to spread His blessings and fruit!

And 2018 is already shaping up to be even more fruitful!

We’re excited to launch our first ever School of Urban Ministry & Missions beginning this month and running through Christmas! And of course, our Intensive Christian Training classes start up again in February!  In 2017, we had forty-five (45) people graduate from our various phases of ICT and Alpha, who in turn nurture and serve the upcoming disciples of the program.  It is exactly what defines us as a church...  We are DISCIPLES, rooted and grounded in the love of JESUS CHRIST, who go make DISCIPLES rooted and grounded in the love of JESUS CHRIST!

We are hosting eighteen (18) college teams alongside Sharing 1 Love, to engage, educate, combat, and advocate on behalf of victims of Human Trafficking.   Also please keep us in prayer concerning our new collaboration with the Youth Splash program, centered in Little Haiti, a faith-based component of Gang Alternatives that teaches students K-12 about the bible and different lessons and teachings from the bible.  We hope to bring the students once a month to CCMB on Friday evenings, as well as take part in the meet-ups at their center.  Finally, please take note that we are in the planning stages for a couple of short-term missions trip opportunities this year!

All of this wonderful fruit is directly linked to YOUR active participation, so THANK you! Thank you for being faithful stewards of your finances, and thank you for serving and giving of your time!

With much love,
